We are a small team of accountants based in Stroud, who want to make the world a better place, one tax return at a time. 

 

We work best with people who understand that some handles need to be cranked, that the machine needs feeding, and at the same time, want to remove the handles and dismantle the machine. 

 

You are running your own business, whether as a sole trader, partnership, or limited company, and you may even have a team around you.

 

You’ll possibly have had a go at cranking the handles yourself. And now, you’d prefer some expert help, so you can focus on what you were put here to do (which probably wasn’t to file returns every three months!).

 

You might be in a pickle, with messy paperwork, missed filings, and unopened HMRC letters. We’ll unpickle you.

 

You will be looking for a relationship, rather than a once-a-year transaction, based on mutual respect and trust. 

 

When we’re working together, you’ll have two more people keeping an eye on everything with you, and you will feel protected from the demands of the machine that we need to feed.

Why Kung Fu?

 

Kung Fu is any skill achieved through hard work and practice.

 

Our name reflects the fact that we’ve served our time, we’ve done the reps, we’ve put in the 10,000 hours, as bookkeepers and accountants, and consider ourselves well on the way to mastery, despite HMRC changing the rules on us frequently, and failing in their own requirement to support business owners!

 

Kung Fu Accounting therefore is a collection of humans who happen to be experts with numbers, systems, and dealing with HMRC. We are a small and perfectly formed team of two (with support) that provides everything you need to run your business, from bookkeeping and payroll, to VAT returns, to year end accounts and tax returns.

The Team

 

Simon is our technical accountant, working behind the scenes to make sure every set of accounts and tax returns we produce comply with the rules, regulations and laws.

 

And I’m Scott. An Earthling who happens to like numbers, but who also understands that numbers are a man-made way of attempting to codify an incredibly complicated world.

 

I see myself as a spokesperson for Mother Nature, whose voice has for too long been ignored, her lands destroyed, her water polluted, and her children harmed, all in the name of progress.

 

To say I am conflicted is an understatement. I rely on the status quo to feed my family, and at the same time I wish to topple the pyramid scheme called capitalism.
